Columbus East had the fastest qualifying times in four events in Friday night’s preliminaries of the boys swimming North Sectional.

East’s Brady Beyer has the fastest qualifying time in the 500-yard freestyle (4 minutes, 49.96 seconds) and second-fastest in the 100 breaststroke (1:00.31). Mason Curry had the top time in the 100 butterfly (54.33).

Beyer, Curry and Chad Kelly teamed with Dathan Wolf for the fastest time in the 200 medley relay (1:40.83) and with Branson Young for the top time in the 400 freestyle relay (3:23.76).

The swimming finals will begin at 3 p.m. today. (Saturday 2/20) Diving will start at 11 a.m. and will finish before the swimming begins.
