INDIANAPOLIS — Columbus East continued its trend of playing close against highly-ranked teams in a 72-60 loss at Class 4A No. 2 North Central. The Panthers are No. 1 in the state in the Sagarin Ratings.
“We played tough to the end,” East coach Danny Brown said. “They are an experienced, tough and talented team. We challenged them for 32 minutes. Proud of my team.”
Maeleigh Roberts led the Olympians (7-5) with 15 points. Koryn Greiwe added 13 points and five assists and Gabby Dean had 12 points, eight rebounds and five blocked shots. Saige Stahl and Leah Bachmann each grabbed seven rebounds, and Albany Speer had six assists.
